Peculiar- In a Good Way

Throught personal stories and scripture, Peculiar-- In a Good Way (Deseret Book, softcover, $14.95) addresses the common concern of "striving to be better when we're already pretty good." A message board specifically for the book has been established to provide a forum for women all over the world to reach out and connect to one another through conversation and to ask the author questions.

Peculiar illustrates how wholesome principles can be applied to life in a positive and upbeat way to bring more happiness into our loves. Readers are reminded that wherever they are in their striving, there is a greater source of power and influence that can help their efforts as they strive to do good and to be good.

While working as a camp nurse at Shady Lawn Farm in Oakdale, California, Edmunds was asked to sing "O My Father" for camp patrons. As she and another woman began singing, two other campers came running to join them. They hadn’t known they were LDS, but the hymn was a magnet, and they finished singing with them and eventually became dear friends. Her point- sometimes being peculiar sets us apart from others, and many times it brings us together.

Peculiar– In a Good Way is available at all Deseret Book stores and at www.deseretbook.com.
