LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - This year will your favorite retailer be wishing you Happy Holidays?  If so, they are ignoring the "reason for the season." As Christmas is a Christian holiday, one website is doing its part to put the birth of Christ back into the holiday.

One Christian soul is trying to change the non-Christian focus of some retailers by encouraging support of those retailers who are actively using  the  "Merry Christmas" slogan in lieu of "Happy Holidays.

Have a Merry Christmas (Cont'd)
MerryChristmasStores.com was founded by Randy Bridges, to help identify and promote, those local and national retailers. With the recent trend of replacing "Merry Christmas" with "Happy Holidays," it has become a sensitive issue for followers of the Christian faith.

"Christmas is one holiday that has always been a Chrisitan celebration. It's not supposed to be 'all-inclusive,'" said Bridges. "Millions of Christians patronize these companies and spend billions of dollars in their stores every year. So to have 'Merry Christmas' replaced with 'Happy Holidays', to be politically correct, is insulting and a slap in the face to all Christians."

The "Happy Holidays" slogan has become popular over the last few decades as retailers have attempted to include those of other faiths and those who are secular, but enjoy the trappings of the celebrations.

Mormons have been asked by their leaders to avoid the use of slogans such as "X-mas" to assure that the Christian celebration keeps an emphasis on Christ.
