St. George Top Five (Cont'd)
According to the July/August 2006 issue of AARP Magazine, St. George, Utah is one of five retiree "Dream Towns" in the United States. Author Sarah Mahoney did a review of all of the towns available to retirees and settled on Charleston, South Carolina; Rehoboth Beach, Deleware; Memphis, Tennesse; Las Cruces, New Mexico; and St. George, Utah.

The author interviewed one couple, Nora and Pat Flannery, who had moved to St. George from Central California who cited the good weather, good people and affordability as being the main factors for moving to the sunny city. The proximity to nature and local events were also given as a reason that St. George has become so popular to the retiree set.

According to a recent AARP study quoted in the article that tracks moving patterns of those over sixty years old, St. George was a top ten location for growth.  With articles like this one found in the AARP Magazine, growth might continue into the indefinite future.
