When a Biscuit Isn't Really a Biscuit

When you say you want a Biscuit, you mean . . . Beware, American traveler! You may consider yourself an expert English speaker, having your first coherent words uttered in this internationally-spoken language. You may feel secure in your accent, pronunciation, diction, interpretation, and any other word that fits this list. But I still must issue this warning. When traveling abroad, be forewarned, a biscuit is NOT a biscuit.

Fuel Economy More Important than Ever

Summers do thake their toll on vehicles. Especially for those living in the desert. It wouldn't surprise any of you if I told you we are in a severe service schedule area. Being that we live in a hot, dry, and dusty climate, means things like oil changes need to be done more often than you would if you lived in Kansas! Coolant and other fluids need to be maintained and serviced more often.

Alaska: Fishing in God's Country

Some may assert the religious importance of Jerusalem, the Vatican or Salt Lake City, but everyone knows that Alaska was created by God as an escape from the ever present conflicts and stress created by man. Any piece of Alaska is worthy of praise, but one small piece should be considered special enough to warrant consideration for your first visit to Alaska -- Gustavus via Juneau.

Event Review: The Stadium of Fire Shoots Blanks

The Stadium of Fire in Provo, Utah, is usually one hot event for the July 4th holiday. This year, however, it was not only cloudy above the stadium, but a lot of the haze seemed to settle within the stadium. In short, this year's event was unfocused, lacking in crowd appeal and lackluster in "fire" power.

Tri-State Transportation Plan Necessary for Vegas Valley

It is estimated that nearly 3,000 people make the commute from St. George and Cedar City, Utah to Las Vegas on a daily basis. As you get closer to Las Vegas, the number of commuting suburbanites grows significantly and the future will create a real problem for Las Vegas Valley planners if it is not addressed now rather than later.

Travel Review: Choose Scotland!

There are many beautiful places to visit in this big world, but none have the unique history and majesty of Scotland. Those traveling o Great Britain often comment that they wish they had spent less time in London and more time traveling the green mountains, rolling hills and quaint harbors of England's northern reaches.

R.V. is One Long Boring Ride - Movie Review

R.V. is one of those movies-and there are at least one or two every year-that starts off the unofficial spring/summer movie season by opening at number one in box office sales because they've saturated every network on television with commercials that feature the same three or four goofy scenes without telling us anything about the movie, in order to lure huge throngs of families to see it, until three or four weeks later when the families realize that they've wasted their money, but by then they don't care because the next big "box office smash" is out, and it starts the whole process over again. Yeah, it's one of those movies.
